This is the first entry in Notes, a small writing space alongside the formal publication list. The plan is to use it for things that don’t quite fit elsewhere: a short explanation of a calculation, a pointer to a paper I read and liked, a writeup of a method that didn’t make it into a paper, occasional reflections on the craft of doing science.
